The Efficient In-Box
Your In-Box should work in one direction only. The In-Box is for documents, papers, magazines, memos, invoices, etc. you have
not yet handled. If you handled it, it should go into another stackable or folder--not back into the In-Box!
Rehandling and deciding twice on 25 pieces of paper per day can add up to over 40 hours of wasted paper handling per year--a full week of rework!
Once removed from the In-Box, route your item to other stackables that represent specific actions you need to take on the item, such as To Read, To File, To Do Later, To Pay, To Call, Pending, To Delegate, and To Copy.
